Vanessa "Ness" S. is a Bay Area born and based traditional studio artist specializing in drawing, painting, and illustration, with sub-fouses in embroidery and mixed media.  She graduated from UC Santa Cruz in 2022 with a B.FA in Studio Art and a B.A in Feminist Studies, and approaches her practice with the goal of invoking . As a 2D artist, her main media are acrylic paint, watercolor, gouache, graphite, pen, and colored pencils. 
Ness tests the limits of comfort ability by detailing realistic experiences of mental health and neurodiversity as a person coming from both backgrounds. They aspire to create dream-like artworks with inspiration from surrealism, evoking the feeling of both peaceful dreams and nightmares.
